Dr Candice Gliksman

Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Candice Gliksman is a specialist psychiatrist with over 13 years of experience across the private and public domains.

Born and raised in South Africa, Dr Gliksman has a background in psychology, having completed honours in Psychology with distinction before entering the medical field. Dr Gliksman obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery cum laude in 2003 in South Africa, after which she completed internship and junior medical officer training. Following this Dr Gliksman specialised for a further 5 years in Psychiatry and was awarded her Fellowship in Psychiatry (South Africa) in 2010 and enjoyed a thriving private practice before moving to Australia in 2017. She became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry in 2020 and has worked predominantly in the public sector in both Victoria and Western Australia. Dr Gliksman is currently a consultant psychiatrist at Joondalup Health Campus providing both acute inpatient care and Electroconvulsive Therapy.

Dr Gliksman is passionate about guiding the young doctors of tomorrow. She takes an active role as an accredited supervisor of Psychiatry trainees and junior doctors at Joondalup Health Campus. Dr Gliksman is also involved in the training of medical students who rotate through Joondalup Health Campus.

Dr Gliksman believes in the integrity of the whole individual and as such endeavours to provide collaborative care with an emphasis on both the pharmacological and psychosocial aspects of treatment.

Her interests lie in Mood disorders, Psychosis, ADHD, Anxiety disorders, PTSD and Borderline Personality Disorder. .
